Witteveen Fleet Maintenance requires an experienced, knowledgeable, motivated and career-minded 310T Truck & Coach Technician for our busy shop in Guelph.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs (adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulating components, adjust/test/rebuild engines etc.)
  • Related assigned duties within qualification level, in accordance with all relevant guidelines and requirements.
  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure repairs resolved the problem.
  • Arrange for and obtain appropriate inspections and approval of all major repairs before vehicle is released from maintenance facility.
  • Identify and report any additional maintenance and/or repairs found necessary in conducting assigned repairs and maintenance.
  • Properly record time spent, parts used and repairs completed and/or maintenance conducted on appropriate internal forms.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area
  • Assist other techs when needed

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Three years experience on heavy fleet equipment as a licensed technician or as a 3rd year apprentice is an asset
  • Ability to proactively problem-solve and think logically
  • Good mechanical aptitude and a continued willingness to learn
  • Capable of and confident in working independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work in harmony with others
  • Experience with computerized diagnostics
